Julian Stadon

Bio

Julian Stadon is a mixed reality/media artist and PhD candidate who completed a Ba.(Art) followed by an M.E.A(Electronic Art) at Curtin University of Technology, Australia. Stadon’s research has included time with Interface Cultures, Linz; Salford University, Manchester; HITLab, New Zealand; The Australian Center for Virtual Art; The Fogscreen Centre Finland, and The Banff New Media Institute, Banff.

Along with his ongoing practice based research, Stadon lectures in the School of Art and Design and the School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts at Curtin University, along with the SAE Institute, Perth. He is also the director of Dorkbot Perth.

Stadon has organised conferences including The Media Arts Scoping Study (2009) , Re:Live: The Third International Conference on Media Art History (2009) and The First International Conference on Transdisciplinary Imaging at the Intersections of Art Science and Culture (2010). He has also presented at many conferences and festivals including Ars Electronica, The Perth International Arts Festival, The International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR), Cybernetics in Art Design and Mathematics 2010 (CADM:2010) and Translife 2011.

His PhD thesis title is Post Biological Digital Identity in Artificial Mixed Reality Real Time Data Transfer Systems. This study is supported by the Curtin Research Scholarship (CRS) and the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA).
